General Information

Since April 2015 the pathology laboratories at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust have become part of Frontier Pathology NHS Partnership.

Frontier Pathology is a joint venture between Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. We are an innovative partnership of NHS pathology services, established to secure and develop pathology services for clinicians and their patients in Brighton, Surrey and Sussex. We provide pathology services in a wide variety of settings, serving our founding Trusts, other NHS and private hospitals and primary care organisations.

Our aim is to operate a comprehensive and responsive pathology service. We will strive to achieve this through peer review assessment by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and continuous improvement using quality system management and review. Brighton and Sussex Pathology has very close links with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School which serves to bring the latest clinical practices in pathology to the facility.
